Well-Being Through Courage and Vulnerability

DR. BREANNA MCGAFFIN
Clinical Psychologist
Breanna graduated from the University of Wollongong in NSW, but began her private practice in the Whitsundays, North QLD. A move to the Riverina on the border of NSW and VIC in 2024 means the practice is now operated via telehealth.
Breanna works primarily from an attachment perspective to help individuals and families. Specifically, keeping in mind the idea that what happens (or doesn't happen) over our lives impacts us and over time coping strategies which were once very helpful and adaptive can become rigid and unhelpful in the present. Her goal is to help clients cultivate greater comfort with vulnerability to deepen and strengthen connections to their feelings, real selves and important others. The majority of Breanna's work is completed with psychodynamic therapy or Masterson Therapy (an object relations, neurobiology and attachment therapy).
Breanna’s work is informed by both her professional training and her lived experience. She struggled to understand and assert her real self and now recognises this is the most important gift to offer yourself in life. One of the greatest joys in her work is helping people achieve lasting and meaningful change and connection. Breanna strives to provide a genuine, supportive, safe and non-judgmental space for people to explore the issues that bring them to therapy.
